Welcome to Checkrides.fyi (“we,” “our,” “us”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Checkrides.fyi is an informational platform that aggregates publicly available FAA data and user-submitted reviews about Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs). The site is provided for informational purposes only and does not represent, endorse, or certify any individual examiner.

2. Eligibility and Account Access

Users must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a legal guardian to use this site.

Accounts are created through passwordless authentication via one-time email codes. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their email access and for all activity performed through their verified session.

3. Acceptable Use

By using Checkrides.fyi, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or inappropriate content.
  • Attempt to impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the site for commercial use.
  • Attempt to interfere with or compromise site security or functionality.
  • Use the platform for unlawful or unauthorized purposes.

Violation of these conditions may result in content removal or account suspension at our discretion.

4. User-Generated Content

Users may submit reviews and related text content about DPEs. By posting a review, you grant Checkrides.fyi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use your content for the purpose of operating the platform.

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these Terms, our moderation guidelines, or applicable law.

You retain ownership of your content but acknowledge that reviews are publicly visible and may not be fully erasable from third-party archives.

5. Public FAA Data

Checkrides.fyi displays data sourced from the Federal Aviation Administration’s publicly available examiner database. This data includes names, business addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and pilot credentials. We do not verify the accuracy or completeness of FAA data, and it may contain errors or outdated information.

6. Disclaimers

Checkrides.fyi provides information “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content.
  • The suitability or performance of any DPE listed on the site.
  • Uninterrupted or error-free site operation.

Users are solely responsible for evaluating any examiner or information found on the platform.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Checkrides.fyi and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Use or inability to use the website.
  • Reliance on any information obtained from the site.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of user data.

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, and email delivery, including Supabase, PostHog, and Resend. Your use of Checkrides.fyi implies acceptance of any applicable terms of these providers. Links to external sites or services are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement.

9. Advertising and Future Payments

Checkrides.fyi may include third-party advertising or promotional content. Any future integration with payment processors (e.g., Stripe) will be subject to separate terms. We will not share personal identifiers with advertisers—only aggregated or anonymized data.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time without notice if we believe a user has violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity. Upon termination, rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.
